Surfer Bit By Great White Shark At California Beach | Real Radio 92 1

By @MaeganSpaghetti Jun 28, 2021 A 39-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday (June 26, 2021) after he was bitten by a great white shark while surfing off of California’s northern coast. Authorities say the man was in the water off of Grey Whale Cove State Beach, just south of San Francisco, when his right leg was bitten about 9:15 a.m. Fortunately, the shark took just one bite before letting go and swimming off. The man got a look at the shark, described as a juvenile around 6 to 8 feet long. Thomas Masotta, who was fishing at the beach during the attack, said he was one of the first to assist the man after hearing him yell for help. The injured man was able to swim back to shore on his own. Masotta said he used his fishing gear to make a tourniquet for the man’s leg.

PACIFICA, Calif. - Nemanja Spasojevic says he was snorkeling off the coast of Grey Whale Cove State Beach in San Mateo County over the weekend, when he was bit by a great white shark. He said the plan was to snorkel for about 45 minutes to an hour, an activity he admits is uncommon for that area. It s a rare activity for that area as visibility is usually extremely low, he wrote. Previous reports stated that Spasojevic was surfing in the area, but he clarified that saying he initially told first responders that he paddled back to shore, but he actually swam back.

Nemanja Spasojevic of San Francisco, 38, was snorkeling and diving for crabs off the coast from Gray Whale Cove State Beach (aka Devil s Slide), between Pacifica and Montara, when a great white shark bit him once in the leg about 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 26. Spasojevic wrote a description of the encounter on social media that SFGate reported in detail. According to the outlet, Spasojevic compared the pain he felt when the shark bit him to a mosquito bite, saying that it felt more like [a] curiosity bite than a true attack. Nonetheless, the single bite left him with 10 lacerations on his leg.
