A King County council member says Washington’s most populous county is not getting a fair share of COVID-19 vaccines, and the state should increase the county’s allocation.
“Do it in an equitable way,” said Reagan Dunn, vice chair of the King County Council. “The most equitable way I can think of is let’s distribute it per capita.”
Dunn introduced legislation on Monday requesting that the state give more vaccines to King County, which he said is currently getting about a quarter of the state s supply, even though more than a quarter of Washington s population lives there.

Gov. Jay Inslee announced Monday that 500,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Washington state.
The progress in vaccinations comes as the state announced four mass COVID-19 vaccination sites are opening in central and eastern Washington this week, and more are planned for western Washington in the near future.
The sites, previously announced by Gov. Jay Inslee, will be the Spokane Arena, the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick, Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee, and the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield.
