A positive DNA match from evidence collected in a 2017 burglary in Sheridan netted a third-degree burglary charge for a Silver Creek man.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office did not identify the man in a news release Thursday due to his age at the time of the incident. The investigation stems from a burglary in 2017, though no specifics were released.
In late 2020, the Sheriff’s Office received a potential match to the DNA collected at the scene. After a warrant was issued, the man turned himself in to police Wednesday; he was later released.
