19 MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. U.S. Air Force Col. Jennifer R. Kondal took command of the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center on McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in East Tennessee, February 26, during a virtual change-of-command ceremony.
Colonel Kondal is the 16th commander after U.S. Air Force Col. Kenneth Lozano. He becomes the Provost Marshal and Chief, Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection Division, National Guard Bureau, Joint Staff in Arlington, Virginia. Colonel Kondal previously served as the Deputy Director of ANG Operations for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Operations, at the readiness center on Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

Two hikers were plucked by helicopter from a large piece of ice that broke away from shore at Bruce Peninsula National Park near Tobermory on Sunday.
The ice the two people were on drifted almost three kilometres from shore when an OPP helicopter was able to hover above them and make the rescue, Grey Bruce OPP said in a news release on Monday.

Both people were returned safely to shore and were uninjured.
“This was amazing team work by all of the involved services,” Grey Bruce OPP Acting Insp. Debra Anderson said in the release. “Everyone worked together to safely rescue these hikers. This situation could have ended in tragedy.”

The pair of hikers had been walking on the ice near the national park when a large piece broke away from the shore, leaving them stranded. The floating ice continued drifting out into Georgian Bay, the release said.
Emergency services responded to Cyprus Lake Road at 2:30 p.m., with OPP being assisted at shore by Bruce County Paramedics, Northern Bruce Peninsula Fire Department and Parks Canada.
