Ipswich Magistrates Court heard the 19-year-old architecture student stuck to his guns, telling police the licence was his even after he had been taken to the police station. Police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said police had been patrolling on Stewart Road in Goodna on April 2 when they pulled over a white Honda Accord for a licence check about 2.40am. The court heard Majok Chol Majok was behind the wheel but, when asked to show his licence, pulled out one belonging to someone else.

The tradesman told the police he “knew the Australian constitution” during a drunken tirade that resulted in him being arrested. An Ipswich court heard that Dylan Hearps walked towards the police at the stopped car yelling, “stop those f ing c ts. Get those c ts.” Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said Hearps then ran towards the police calling out: “Leave them alone. They haven’t done anything. Just leave them alone.”

Drink driver should have had interlock fitted

An Ipswich court heard Sukhdev Singh was pulled over at 1am on April 2 in Gatton, blowing 0.172. Sukhdev Singh, 29, from Gatton, pleaded guilty in Ipswich Magistrates Court to driving under the influence of alcohol; and driving without an interlock device fitted. Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said police intercepted Singh on Golf Links Drive. Checks revealed the driver was subject to a licence condition that he must have an ignition interlock device fitted from February 3, 2021 until February 2, 2023.
