A teenager is due to appear in court today charged over an alleged assault and robbery in Cork.
On Thursday last, a man was walking in Bishopstown when he was attacked from behind and punched in the back of the head.
Two men demanded he hand over his two mobile phones and he was struck a second time before the two men left the scene.
The injured man was brought to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was later discharged.
Gardaí began an investigation and the injured party later told them he had installed a find my phone” app, which Gardaí then utilised.

A MAN HAS been charged in relation to an incident where a man was robbed and assaulted in Cork city last Thursday.
At around 3.30am on 14 January, a man was walking in Bishopstown when he was punched in the back of the head.
Two men demanded he hand over his two mobile phones and he was struck a second time before the two men left the scene.
A major Garda alert has been issued about a “surge” in the theft of catalytic converters in Ireland this year.
Around 1,400 cases have been recorded across the country, with more than half of these in Dublin.
However, senior sources are concerned that this figure may be “just the tip of the iceberg” as it is believed many victims of this type of crime do not report it to gardaí as they may not be aware their vehicle has been targeted.
Detectives have identified a number of gangs across the country who are suspected of being responsible for the huge spike in this crime.

The three men, all aged in their 20s, were arrested this week and are currently detained at Togher and Bridewell Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

On September 4, 2020, Gardaí received a report from a lady, aged in her 70s and who lives alone, about work she recently had done by tradesmen at her house in the Bishopstown area of Co. Cork.
