His son, Adam, confirmed his passing in a statement, which read, “It is with great sadness that I share with you today the passing of my father, Gordon “Butch” Stewart. This news seems almost unbelievable, since he was as involved and forward-thinking as ever. He chose to keep a very recent health diagnosis private and we respected that wish.

(contributed) Spread the love What was supposed to be a vacation in the sun for a German couple has ended tragically, after one of their two daughters died on Sunday afternoon. The police have confirmed that a five-year-old girl died at Royalton Antigua resort just after midday on yesterday. Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Frankie Thomas told Observer that the child appeared to have drowned. A Royalton staff member told our newsroom that the incident has touched the hearts of everyone at the hotel.

Tourism Minister Charles “Max” Fernandez confirmed that meetings have been underway to decide how the sector can bounce back from the COVID-19 shock.  “We have to shift our focus and come up with a whole new product and a whole new way of defining our product,” he confirmed. Tourism Minister Charles “Max” Fernandez said the flight had been recorded as coming from the British Virgin Islands (BVI) when it actually originated from the DR. “The persons came in with flight plans amended and that should not have been, and I know that that is something the authorities are looking into,” he told Observer, adding, “I don’t know what the repercussions will be, but I know that the investigations are ongoing”.
