On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at approximately 5:00 am, police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the area of Carrico Mill Road and Oaks Road in Hughesville, for the reported motor vehicle collision.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle off the roadway that had rolled over and landed upright with no occupants in the vehicle or in the area.
Firefighters utilized thermal imagers to check the surrounding area for any possible ejected occupants and were unable to locate anyone.
All units returned to service and the scene was turned over to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, who are investigating the collision.

On March 13, 2020, the Prince George’s County Police Department received a Cyber Tip from The Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding a potential image of child pornography. The tip was regarding an incident that occurred on January 24, 2020, where an image was shared over the internet.
Police viewed the image and described it as an image of an adult male having sex with a pre-pubescent female.
PG County Police sent a subpoena request to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office on August 25, 2020 for the subscriber information for the device address provided by The Center for Missing and Exploited Children. On September 4, 2020, a response was received from Verizon that Indicated that on January 24, 2020 a device used to access the image was registered to John Larsen at a residence in Waldorf. The device had a username and e-mail address of larsen.john@pbgc.gov.

UPDATE: On January 30, 2021, at approximately 1:37 a.m., officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 500 block of University Drive in Waldorf for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a 13-year-old female inside the house suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was flown to a hospital and treated for injuries that were later determined to be not life-threatening.
A preliminary investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) fired several rounds at the house. One of the rounds went through the siding and struck the victim who was in a bedroom. No one else in the house was injured. It is not known at this point if the suspect(s) was in a car or on foot. Detectives are working leads and say it does not appear the shooting was random.

Detectives from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Saturday suspected of shooting and killing two women in Waldorf.
Deon Watkins, 49, of Washington, D.C., was arrested in the District and is awaiting extradition to Maryland to be charged, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. Download our NBC Washington app for iOS or Android to get alerts for local breaking news and weather.
Officers responded to the 2400 block of Hanover Court at about 12:45 a.m. Thursday for a report of gunshots.
“When officers arrived, they observed the front door to one of the townhomes was open,” the statement from the sheriff s office said.
During the course of the investigation, Deon Watkins, 49, of Washington, D.C., was identified as the person responsible for the murders. On January 23, Watkins was located in D.C. and arrested. He is awaiting extradition to Maryland to be charged. Details of the motive are not being released at this time; however, Watkins knew both victims.
