226 infected in new coronavirus outbreaks at 48 schools, says Michigan’s March 8 school outbreak report

The data was collected on Thursday, March 4.
The biggest new outbreaks involves 24 students and staff at Portage Central High School and 20 students at Portage Central Elementary in Kalamazoo County.
The only new outbreak at a college is five infections at Ferris State University.
New K-12 school outbreaks also were identified in 20 counties. Below are those outbreaks listed by county:
Antrim County: Central Lake High School, staffer and student.
Bay County: Bay City Cohn Glen High School, staffer and student.
Berrien County: Berrien Springs High School, four students.

Red Kettle program results
TRAVERSE CITY â The Salvation Army recently announced the Red Kettle Matching Monday campaign collected $41,908.28 from community members. The total, with a $30,000 match, amounts to $71,908.28 for local programs and services. The organization aimed to raise at least $30,000 during this yearâs holiday program.
