More coronavirus deaths and cases have been recorded at Salisbury District Hospital in the past 24-hour period. A man in his 80s and a woman in her 90s with underlying health conditions passed away after testing positive for Covid-19. Three more people ill with coronavirus were taken to hospital in the same period. In a statement, a spokesperson from Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: Sadly, we can confirm that a further two patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 and had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital have died. 77 patients that had tested positive for COVID-19 in total have now passed away at the hospital.
The number of positive patients is also continuing to rise. In a statement, a spokesperson from Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: Sadly, we can confirm that a further patient who had tested positive for COVID-19 and had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital has died. 75 patients in total have now passed away. The patient was in her 70’s and had underlying health conditions. Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time. We currently have 54 in-patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 being cared for at the hospital.
COVID-19 vaccinations have now started at Salisbury District Hospital, with residents over 80-years-old receiving the treatment earlier today. The first people to be vaccinated by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust were Salisbury residents James Pratt, aged 86, and Norma Pratt, 83. Priority staff members also received the vaccination, with consultant anaesthetist Duncan Murray the first staff member to be vaccinated. The vaccination will be given first to those in the priority groups including residents aged 80-years-old or older, high-risk and vulnerable residents, NHS staff and care home staff. The NHS will be contacting people in the priority groups to make an appointment for the vaccination.
Salisbury District Hospital has recorded another coronavirus death and the number of positive patients has risen again. There are now 50 patients who contracted Covid-19. A total of 74 patients have died from it. In a statement, a spokesperson from Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: Sadly, we can confirm that a further patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital has sadly died. 74 patients in total have now passed away. The patient was in her 70’s and had underlying health conditions. Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.
