MOONRAKERS: The no waiting at any time and loading restrictions on the A4311 Cricklade Road, Beechcroft Road and Whitworth Road will be revised in line with the new junction layout at Moonrakers crossroads. The no waiting at any time restriction on the south side of Beechcroft Road will be replaced with a controlled crossing and there will be new bus stop clearways where stopping is prohibited except for buses on the east and west side of the A4311 Cricklade Road. This will be carried out through the Swindon Borough Council (Waiting and Loading restrictions and Parking Places Consolidation) Order 2021 (Variation No. G)
Van driver fined more than £6,000 for breaching weight restrictions A VAN driver was ordered to pay more than £6,000 after breaching weight restrictions by 900kg. At about 8.25am on September 11, traffic enforcement officers spotted a Mercedes Sprinter van driving along the A4 Bath Road in Beenham, Berkshire. The Public Protection Partnership said the van looked very low to the ground and under strain. The van then drove onto a weighbridge and was found to be overweight by 900 kilograms, about 25.7 per cent. The vehicle s owner and operator pleaded guilty at a court hearing on Friday, May 7 at Reading Magistrates Court. The defendant company was ordered to pay £5,750, £175 contribution towards costs and a £170 Victim’s Surcharge, in total, £6,095.
