Mysore/Mysuru: The day two of
KSRTC strike seeking fulfilment of various demands continued to paralyse the city but today, people were not that affected as a few buses got onto the roads as the Government has threatened to withhold March salaries if the strike continued.
Over 15 to 20 Airavat and Rajahamsa buses carried people to places including Bengaluru, H.D. Kote, Periyapatna and Madikeri and a handful of the regular Saarige buses operated.
Private buses, maxi cabs and other transport services were seen operating in different parts of the city, coming to the rescue of stranded passengers. There were over 160 private buses that were ferrying people.

KSRTC Sub-Urban Bus Stand in city wore a completely different look with Private and Mini-buses dotting the bus stand, as the indefinite stir launched by KSRTC employees, seeking fulfilment of their nine-point charter of demands, including implementation of the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, began this morning.
The strike was a total success in the city and district, with no KSRTC buses operating from the Sub-Urban and City Bus Stands since morning. While the KSRTC Sub-Urban Bus Stand saw a beeline of Private buses and other public transport vehicles waiting to pick up passengers, who were however less in number as compared to usual days, the City Bus Stand wore a completely deserted look, with no passengers nor buses.

Bengaluru, April 6 : Taking a tough stand, the Karnataka government on Tuesday ruled out any negotiations with various Road Transport Corporations employees deciding to go on an indefinite strike from Wednesday, demanding that their salaries be increased in accordance with the sixth pay commission recommendations.
The employees of four different state run road transport corporations have been demanding that the state government bring them under the government employees category in order to receive the benefits of pay commissions in the future too. They had gone on a four-day strike in December last year with the same demand.

The Government of Tamil Nadu, in early February, announced a waiver for farm loans from cooperative credit societies to the extent of ₹12,100 crore. There is now a clamour to include the farmers’ loans from banks as well in this scheme and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has also promised to waive farm loans and jewel loans within certain limits.
