Ryan Giggs has denied assaulting two women and controlling or coercive behaviour.
Giggs, the Wales national team manager, was arrested in November on suspicion of two counts of assault against his girlfriend and another person and a further alleged offence of coercive control over a three-year period.
The former Manchester United winger, wearing a black suit and a face mask, pled not guilty at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.
The court heard Giggs allegedly subjected Kate Greville to a “deliberate head butt” on November 1, 2020, while he also subjected her to behaviour “intended to humiliate and degrade between December 2017 and November 2020. There was a “fear of violence on many occasions”.
