Lawrence Jones charged with further offence

by Alistair Hardaker Lawrence Jones, the former CEO of UKFast, has been charged with a further count of rape following an investigation. Jones, 52, of Brooks Drive, Hale, has already been charged with one count of rape and four counts of sexual assault following reports in 2019. The offences are alleged to have taken place in 2010 and 2013 respectively in Wales, Hale, Manchester and London. Following a further report in January 2021, Jones has been charged with an additional count of rape which is alleged to have taken place in Salford in 1993. He will next appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on 21 April 2021 in connection with the recent charge of rape.

A man from Oldham has been charged with non-recent child sexual offences. Christopher Pickup (aged 74) from Underwood Way in Shaw, has been charged with 26 offences of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14 years. He is scheduled to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 6, 2021. In August 2019, police received a report of sexual offences against children at a school in Oldham in the 1970s and an investigation was launched.
