Four injured in collision north of Mason City
Crash is under investigation.

MASON CITY, Iowa – Four people are sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision just north of Mason City.
It happened around 11:17 am at the intersection of 300th Street and Orchid Avenue. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says Aleigha Bakkum, 21 of Mason City, was driving south when Maxine Kruger, 89 of Grafton, entered the intersection. The crash injured both drivers and two passengers in Bakkum’s vehicle, Sophia Juarez, 5, and Angel Herman, 20.
All four were taken to MercyOne Medical Center North Iowa for treatment of their injuries. The Sheriff’s Office says all four were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

CERRO GORDO COUNTY, Iowa - One person was injured Monday in a one-vehicle accident.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office said it happened at 7:54 a.m. at Mallard Ave. and 300th St.
A 2001 Chevy Blazer, driven by Anahi Romo, 22, of Northwood, was attempting to turn onto Mallard Ave. when the vehicle left the road, entered the ditch and struck a private farm field fence.
He was taken to Mercy One North Iowa for his injuries. The accident remains under investigation and charges are pending.

(ABC 6 News) - The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff s Office said one person was taken to the hospital following a crash between a vehicle and semi.
The sheriff s office said a semi, driven by 52-year-old Jean Moukolo of Carlisle, PA, was turning east on 210th Street from the Interstate 35 off-ramp just after 6 p.m. Thursday.
A mustang, driven by 75-year-old Robert Paulsen of Swaledale, Iowa, was headed west on 210th Street. Paulsen s car hit the trailer portion of the semi in the road.
Paulsen was taken to the hospital but was not seriously hurt.

CERRO GORDO COUNTY, Iowa - One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Thursday involving a semi.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office said it happened at 6:08 p.m. at 210th St. and I-35.
A 2021 Freightliner was turning east on to 210th St. from the interstate ramp when it collided with a Ford Mustang.
The driver of the Mustang, Robert Paulsen, 75, of Swaledale, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

ALGONA A three-hour standoff ended peacefully here Monday afternoon when Benjamin B. Gonzalez, 37, of Mason City, voluntarily exited a house in the 200 block of North Ridgely Street and surrendered to the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
Gonzalez was wanted on a warrant for first degree murder following a shooting incident last Wednesday, March 31, in the area of 3rd Street Northwest and North Jefferson Avenue in Mason City. The Mason City Police Department and DCI issued a press release the next day that carried a photo of Gonzalez and a statement that he was a suspect in the murder. The victim s name was released to the media Monday – 36-year-old Michael Creviston of Mason City.
