Allied Bioscience relocated its Dallas-Fort Worth headquarters within Plano to provide for the growing company. The move doubles the square footage from the previous office space, and the company has plans to move its research and development labs to a larger space as well. The company has experienced growth during the pandemic because of its work creating products that fight infectious diseases.

Two Hudson Valley agencies secure $4 million for mental health services

By Mid Hudson News -www.midhudsonnews.com Feb 23, 2021 New York state highlighted on map WASHINGTON – Two agencies, one in Westchester and the other in Orange County, will receive $4 million each to provide Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic programs or mental health and addiction treatment. Westchester Jewish Community Services in White Plains and Access: Supports for Living, Inc. in Middletown will use their grant to provide 24/7 crisis response, reducing hospital and emergency department visits, increasing addiction treatment participation, and raising the bar for quality care. “It’s no surprise that demand for mental health and substance use services has dramatically increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, and this award allows us to continue providing critical support the moment it’s needed, eliminating gaps our community has faced fighting addiction and mental health issues,” said Ron Colavito, president and CEO of Access: Supports for Living.

North Country Public Radio Drug and alcohol addiction and untreated mental health issues have long devastated many pockets of the North Country. But there are long waitlists for treatment, and often long drives to clinics in Syracuse and Albany. A new clinic in Malone is trying to change that. “We don’t see a person out in our communities who hasn’t been personally affected or had a loved one or a friend impacted by one of these issues,” says James Button, CEO of Citizen Advocates, based in Malone. He says people have been falling through cracks in the treatment system due to a model that doesn’t focus on the “whole person.”
