Agents have made 200+ rescues so far this year
OCOTILLO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents have performed yet another rescue in the Jacumba Wilderness region.
Agents say it started with a call to 911 dispatch around 10:15 Monday night. They say the call came from three undocumented immigrants who had crossed the border illegally. The caller said they were lost and needed help.

Agents used the cell phone s GPS coordinates to get an approximate location, then called in the Border Search Trauma and Rescue Unit (BORSTAR) to help with the search.

Agents arrest Paisa gang member

El Centro Sector Border Patrol reported arresting a known Paisa gang member Thursday morning.
According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection release, agents apprehended an man in the east desert region of Calexico at 7:30 a.m., hours after he illegally entered the United States. He was detained and transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center.
Records checks revealed that Juan Melgarejo-Herrera, a 35-year-old Mexican national, is a member of the Paisa prison gang with an extensive criminal and immigration history, the CBP release said.
