Construction is kicking off on a long-awaited Farmers Branch restaurant and retail development.
Centurion American Development Group is building the waterfront project in its Mercer Crossing project on LBJ Freeway near Luna Road.
The Mercer Crossing Boardwalk is planned to have more than 60,000 square feet of construction, including a namesake boardwalk along the lake.
“We’re excited to break ground on this piece of Mercer Crossing, which will be a great addition to the dining and retail landscape in Farmers Branch,” Mehrdad Moayedi, president and CEO of Centurion American, said in a statement.

One of North Texas’ major developers has purchased a huge ranch southeast of Dallas for a residential community with as many as 4,000 homes.
Centurion American Development Group – which has dozens of commercial and residential projects across the state – bought the Cartwright Ranch on U.S. Highway 175 in Kaufman County. It’s one of the largest residential land transactions in Dallas-Fort Worth in 2020.

Shingle Mountain After nearly two years of litigation, the city was allowed to begin removing Shingle Mountain, 98,000 tons of abandoned asphalt shingles at 9500 S. Central Expwy. According to a release, Roberts Trucking will move the shingle material to McCommas Bluff Landfill, which plans to recycle it. The removal is being supervised by Modern Geosciences to address environmental concerns, and is anticipated to be complete by the end of March 2021.

What the heck is going on in Celina, Texas? That’s the question that hit me a few weeks ago when I made my first stop in that town. I’ve lived in Dallas for 42 years but never had a reason to visit. Then, in mid-November, a work errand took me 50 miles north. The charming downtown was bustling with a festival called Celina Craft & Cork. A few blocks away, I ran into two friends, Ben Rogers and Skin Wade, of
