ROCHESTER, Minn. - In a message to staff, RPS Superintendent Michael Munoz said Nancy Denzer, who retired from the district in 2018, will be the Century High School interim principal for the remainder of the year.
Chris Fogarty, who has been on leave, has accepted a reassignment position to an Elementary Assistant Principal.
Fogarty had been placed on non-disciplinary leave by Rochester Public Schools.
The district told KIMT in late January it had received a complaint against Fogarty.
Century High School senior Kiana Sayler has been active in student council for nine years, and serves as council president and also as president of her class. She enjoys being involved and thrives on the happiness of others.
English teacher Karri Landeis said Sayler is a natural leader, and that Sayler has enthusiasm for helping others and being a part of her school.
âKiana challenges herself to be her best and through that, she leads others in making them their best,â Landeis wrote in a letter of recommendation. âShe will be successful no matter what path she follows. I am confident that all she needs is opportunity.â

ROCHESTER, Minn. Rochester Public Schools Superintendent Michael Muñoz resigned Tuesday night, Feb. 2, on the heels of multiple instances of plagiarism coming to light.
The school board went into a closed session to discuss a personnel matter during its regular board meeting. Once members came out of the closed session shortly after 11 p.m. they unanimously voted to approve the resignation, effective June 30, 2021. That means Muñoz will serve out the rest of the school year in his position. Muñoz began his role in July 2011.
David Jiang, a 2015 Century High School graduate, had started a petition calling for Muñoz to resign. The movement gained more than 1,000 signatures, and Jiang sent it to the school board prior to Tuesday s meeting.
