Bail set at $75K for man facing retrial for attempted murder
Persisting, Caro asked if he could appeal the verdict. That was May 2019.
In September 2020, a three-judge panel from the 5th District Court of Appeal decided to set aside Caro s guilty verdict, and so a new trial is on the horizon.
Now the question is: Should Caro be allowed to be free while he awaits his new trial.
Last week, appearing at a hearing by phone from prison, Caro was briefly questioned by his lawyer, Michael Reiter. If granted bail, the lawyer said, what would Caro do?
Caro, 34, said he would live with his mother, stepfather and brother in Summerfield, the same residence he was staying when he was arrested. He would get a job. He promised he would appear at every hearing.

The three utility projects are:
1. Highway 29 Construction Utilities
The Florida Department of Transportation completed design on a project to improve portions of Highway 29. The town will be required to adjust the height of existing valves and manholes, and make changes to natural gas lines, water lines and sewer lines in one part of the project. Construction is expected to begin in 2022.
2. Water Meter Replacement Project
The town wants to replace all existing commercial and residential water meters with electronic meters than can be read remotely. They are asking for the funding needed to replace the meters, along with new software and training for a complete radio system.
