Print this article Students in the Chicago Public Schools system will be provided with the choice to go back to school in-person and full-time at the start of the 2021-2022 school year. The district announced the plan Wednesday, allowing for students to go back to school full-time for the first time in over a year since the start of the pandemic, and the budget required to make it happen. The budget plan calls for an additional $225 million, which the district said is needed to prioritize the needs of students in regard to keeping them safe from the virus and otherwise. More than a third of the funding, $85 million, is allocated to “address needs caused by the pandemic.”
