OKLAHOMA CITY -
The Oklahoma City-County Health Department is hosting a COVID-19 vaccine Clinic Wednesday at Oklahoma City University that is designed to make the shot more accessible to minority communities.
More than 3,000 people are expected to get vaccinated at OCU s clinic. In total, 1,500 vaccines were set aside for the Asian community, and 1,000 appointments were set aside for the Latino population.
The County is working with different groups, including the Asian District Cultural Association to make more shots available and to increase vaccine equity.
Association President Thuan Nguyen said they want to help people ages 65 and older in the Asian community get their vaccine because they may have a language barrier or struggle with technology.
