  An 18-year-old transfeminine teen in Singapore claims her school has threatened her with expulsion unless she cuts her hair and wears a boy’s uniform. The student, who chose to remain anonymous and only refers to herself as Ashlee, wrote in a viral Reddit post that she came to better understand her gender identity while attending an all-boys primary school. She describes the experience as “the worst period of my life,” saying that she had a hard time fitting in, was bullied for being perceived as too feminine, and was told to “man up.” She was eventually diagnosed with gender dysphoria by a medical professional, and while attending a co-ed secondary school under the jurisdiction of Singapore’s Ministry of Education (MOE), she was set to begin undergoing hormone therapy.
