SINGAPORE - An 80-year-old cyclist was taken to the hospital on Friday afternoon (April 9) after a road accident involving a bus.
The man was conscious when taken to Raffles Hospital. He was seen in pictures to be lying in front of the bus.
The accident happened along Boon Keng Road towards Bendemeer Road.
The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were alerted to the accident at about 4.50pm.
Chinese-language newspaper Shin Min Daily News reported that the man s bicycle was laden with cardboard boxes.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The police have ruled out foul play, and investigations are ongoing, media reports said.

In response to queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that they received a call for assistance along Dairy Farm Road, near the Dairy Farm flyover, at around 7.30am.
An SCDF paramedic pronounced a person dead at the scene.

Several police and SCDF vehicles were seen in the vicinity, as well as a fire truck.

SINGAPORE, April 7 A 26-year-old motorcyclist was killed this evening after he was involved in an accident with two lorries along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) towards Changi Airport near the Jurong Town Hall exit.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it was alerted to the road traffic accident at about 7.55pm on the day.
The male motorcyclist was found trapped underneath a lorry and was released using an airbag, SCDF said.

Two teenage girls were found dead at the foot of an HDB block in Toa Payoh last Saturday (April 3) night.
The police said they received a report of unnatural death at Block 143, Toa Payoh Lor 2 and found two girls aged 15 and 16 lying motionless on the ground floor.
In response to AsiaOne s queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they received a call for assistance at 10.05pm. A paramedic subsequently pronounced the pair dead on scene.
Identical bracelets were also allegedly removed from the deceased, who were said to be close friends, for investigations.
The police said no foul play is suspected. Investigations are ongoing.
