Community is a spouse of a previous community case
The sole community case reported on April 19 is numbered 62,143. He is a 44-year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident.
He is the spouse of Case number 62,045, reported on April 17.
One of her household contacts is Case 61,536, a Work Pass holder who arrived from India on April 2.
He tested positive for Covid-19 infection on April 2 but was subsequently assessed to be a recovered case based on his positive serology result on April 4.
Community case worked at restaurants
He works as a manager at Spice Grill Restaurant (12 Gopeng Street) and Rangoon Bar & Bistro (94 Rangoon Road), and was last at work on April 15.
This brings the total number of cases to 60,719.
One of the cases is a locally-transmitted infection.
The rest are imported cases that were already placed on stay home notices (SHN) upon their arrival.
One locally-transmitted case
The locally transmitted case (Case 61917) is a 44-year-old Papua New Guinea national who arrived from Australia for a work project here on Mar. 25, 2021, on a Shot-Term Visit Pass.
He tested negative for Covid-19 in his pre-departure test done in Australia on Mar. 23, before testing negative again on Mar. 25 during his on-arrival test.
The man remained isolated until another Covid-19 test on Mar. 27 came back negative, before setting about on a controlled itinerary which largely limited his movements to his place of work and accommodation.
This brings the total number of cases to
60,495.
There are no new cases of locally-transmitted Covid-19 infection.
All 17 cases announced today are imported. They had all already been placed on SHN or isolated upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN.
Four (Cases 61573, 61574, 61576 and 61582) are Singapore Permanent Residents who returned from India, Indonesia and Malaysia.
One (Case 61568) is a Dependant’s Pass holder who arrived from India.
One (Case 61569) is a Long-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived from the UK.
One (Case 61583) is a Work Pass holder who arrived from India.
Six are Work Permit holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Malaysia, of whom one (Case 61584) is a foreign domestic worker.
