Shootings at Athens homes under investigation, possibly linked to gangs

In late April and again in May an outburst of gunfire targeted several homes in Athens where Athens-Clarke police reported no one was injured. So far, police detectives won’t reveal if they have linked any of those shootings or determined a motive on why those homes were selected by the shooters. However, police are also looking at possible links between that violent spree and the slaying of an Athens man who was gunned down inside a car outside Winder. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is probing the shooting death of 20-year-old Ketravian Tyvon Cole, on May 2 along Georgia Highway 316.
