Inquiries continue after dognapping in Sydney
Police have released CCTV as they investigate the theft of a dog from the front of a store in Sydney’s CBD.
About 8.20pm Friday 7 May 2021, a female Pitbull Terrier named ‘Baxter’, aged four, was tied up by her owner outside a store at the intersection of George and Liverpool Streets, Sydney.
When he returned, the dog was missing and officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended a short time later and commenced an investigation.
Police have been told a man and woman were last seen heading south on George Street with the dog.

Police are appealing for public information to find a man missing from the Sydney CBD.
Nil Sharma, aged 48, was last seen at the Bathurst Street entrance to Town Hall Train Station, about 12pm Friday 2 April 2021, after he had walked off from his carer.
Police were contacted by Mr Sharma’s carer that afternoon, with officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command commencing an investigation into Mr Sharma’s whereabouts.
Police and family hold serious concerns for his welfare as Mr Sharma has a medical condition that requires medication.
Mr Sharma’s phone was located in the Woolloomooloo area.
Mr Sharma is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, 175cm tall, with medium build, with short grey hair.
