Heimgartner stuns with dominant Tailem Bend pole Repco Supercars Championship By James Pavey
Andre Heimgartner has claimed a second career pole in a major boilover at The Bend Motorsport Park.
Heimgartner was the defining runner in wet conditions, with the Kelly Grove Racing driver scoring his second career pole.
It opens the door for Heimgartner to end his 160-race wait for victory, having claimed a podium at The Bend last September.
Chaz Mostert, who won the last race at Symmons Plains, was two tenths adrift of Heimgartner’s 2:07.856s, with Erebus Motorsport rookie Will Brown scoring a career-best third in the session.

Michael Caruso breaks through for first TCR Australia race win in shortened final outing
2 days ago
Garry Rogers Motorsport is celebrating a win after a tough final race at Sydney Motorsport Park as Michael Caruso broke through for his first victory in the TCR Australia series, getting the lead early on and staying there in a safety car interrupted race.
Though the win was sweet for Caruso there’s no doubt some of the prize money will go towards a repair bill for the GRM squad as two of their Peugeot 308 TCR entries suffered damage early on in the race, being the cause of two extended safety car periods which saw only two full racing laps take place.
Josh Buchan takes maiden TCR Australia win in Sydney
1 day ago
TCR Australia rookie Josh Buchan has taken his first race win in the category after controlling the first race at Sydney Motorsport Park, taking the HMO Customer Racing outfit back to the top step of the podium.
Buchan was slated to start second but was the benefactor of an issue for the pole-sitting car of Dylan O’Keeffe, having to still put up a fight against those behind him on the grid on the opening lap and later taking the lead back with one of the passes of the year, around the outside into the Turn 1 sweeper.
