ISLAMABAD:
A meeting of the National Coordination Committee for Housing, Construction and Development, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, decided on Wednesday to send cases of long undue delays in the approval of construction projects to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The prime minister chaired meetings of the National Coordination Committee, the Ravi Urban City Project and the Central Business District Development Project Lahore, and received briefings on the progress on these schemes.
Expressing concern over the approval process in Sindh, the prime minister said that economic activity generated by the promotion of construction activities would directly benefit the people of Sindh.

Turning the deputy commissioner s (DC) propositions for a result-oriented anti-encroachment drive into an order on Tuesday, the Sindh High Court summoned the provincial finance secretary over a matter pertaining to the provision of funds worth Rs1.73 billion for roads expansion in Hyderabad. The Hyderabad circuit bench, comprising Justice Nadeem Akhtar and Justice Arshad Hussain Khan, also extended the deadline of the ongoing operation launched to demolish the structures built on state land in Hyderabad by 30 days.
During the hearing, Hyderabad DC Fuad Ghaffar Soomro, who is leading an anti-encroachment drive in the city, submitted a 51-page progress report of the operations carried out in the month of February.

Almost 22 years after the Sindh Land Utilisation Department (LUD) handed over 220 acres of land to the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) to establish a graveyard, the land s demarcation is expected to complete in the next 15 days on the Sindh High Court (SHC) order.
The Hyderabad circuit bench, comprising Justice Nadeem Akhtar and Justice Arshad Hussain Khan, was assured on Tuesday that the demarcation, which had been delayed for decades, will be completed in 15 days. … demarcation of the subject land shall be completed within 15 days, Hyderabad deputy commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro stated before the bench.

As part of the efforts to help increase the revenue of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Sindhâs local government minister has directed the municipal body to identify land in the city for setting up new filling stations, as well as revise the rents of 71 markets and 274 Hawkesbay huts.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah issued these directions to KMC Administrator Laeeq Ahmed on Wednesday during the first meeting of the committee formed to explore new avenues of revenue generation for the cityâs municipal body, according to a statement released by the provincial government.
