Will not accept Murtaza as Karachi administrator: Sindh governor

July 11, 2021 KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail vowed on Saturday that his party, the PTI, which is in opposition in the province, will not accept the chief minister s advisor Murtaza Wahab as the Karachi administrator at “any cost”. “[We] will not accept Murtaza Wahab as the Karachi administrator at any cost,” said Ismail, while speaking at an event held by the Actors Collective Trust Pakistan. The governor, while speaking on a range of issues, claimed that it was decided that the administrator of the country’s biggest city would be appointed after discussions between the federal and provincial governments. The governor also spoke about the Green Line project, saying that the government has completed its talks with a Spanish company in this regard. He assured the media that the federal government will not create any hindrances that would lead to a delay in the start of the project.

Wahab as Karachi administrator not at all acceptable: governor

July 11, 2021 After expressing his opposition on Friday to the likely appointment of Sindh Law and Environment Adviser Barrister Murtaza Wahab as the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) administrator, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Saturday reiterated his stance, asserting that making Wahab the city’s administrator was not at all acceptable. Ismail said this while talking to media persons after he attended a ceremony of the Actors’ Collective Trust Pakistan as the chief guest. The event was held at the Governor House. The governor again stated that it had been earlier settled that the appointment of the Karachi administrator would be made after mutual consultation. He recalled that a meeting held with Prime Minister Imran Khan in chair and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and the Karachi corps commander in attendance had decided that no person having a political background would be appointed as the KMC administrator.

CM, governor urged to resolve water shortage issue - Newspaper

KARACHI: The president of the North Karachi Asso­ciation of Trade and Industry (NKATI), Faisal Moiz Khan, has called upon Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to take notice of severe water crisis in North Karachi and issue directives to the water board for supplying water as per the need of industries to ensure smooth production activities. In a statement, he said tanker mafia has plenty of water while in contrast water is not available from water board lines. “Production activities are stalled due to non-availability of water to factories thus causing delay in timely delivery of foreign orders,” he said. He claimed that the MD Water Board was contacted to discuss the matter, but he did not give any positive response.
