Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced at a press conference on Friday that the provincial government had decided to allot 80 square yard plots to the 6,500 families displaced as a result of the massive exercise. To that end, he said that the Supreme Court would be approached to provide Rs10bn out of the funds being recovered from Bahria Town on account of the land development firm’s settlement dues. Part of the money, he said, would go towards the construction of houses for the families affected by the anti-encroachment operation.

Ag APP ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has so far recovered Rs33 billion in former president Asif Ali Zardari’s fake accounts case and the “actual volume of corruption” in the case is approximately five trillion rupees. In a tweet on Saturday, the minister said the recovered amount is equivalent to about 200 million dollars. At such a recovery level, he said, “one could imagine the scale of corruption in the country and how the past rulers looted the country and Sindh province”. He added that the actual volume of corruption in the fake accounts case was 5,000 billion rupees.

Daily Times July 4, 2021 Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry Saturday said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had so far recovered Rs 33 billion in the Asif Ali Zardari fake accounts case. In a tweet, the minister said the recovered amount is equal to about $200 million. “In light of this, the volume of corruption that had taken place in the country could easily be gauged. Past rulers had looted Pakistan, particularly Sindh,” he reminded. Fawad noted that the actual volume of corruption in the fake account case was a whopping Rs 5,000 billion.
