Vizag: Simhachalam Temple Changes Darshan Timings May 02, 2021, 12:06 IST
Vizag: Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam Executive Officer M V Suryakala said that devotees will be able to have a darshan of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam at Simhachalam temple until 2:30 p.m from Sunday.
As a part of precautionary measures to control the spread of Covid-19, the EO and other officials agreed to allow darshan at the shrine from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. However, before 9 p.m., all deity rituals at the temple will be complete as normal.
At the temple, there are 22 priests. 14 of them are on medical leave due to various health issues. They were screened for Covid-19, but the results are yet to be out.

Criminal proceedings against 12 accused
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) India has accepted the action taken by the authorities concerned and the ex-gratia of ₹ 1 crore paid to the families of the 12 people who died in the tragic styrene gas leak incident in LG Polymers plant in Visakhapatnam.
The Andhra Pradesh Government has informed the Commission that 485 people were also paid ₹ 1 lakh each who were hospitalised for 2-3 days. It has also informed that criminal proceedings were initiated against the 12 accused.
The Commission had taken suo motu cognizance of media reports about the death of eight persons and over 5,000 others falling sick due to leakage of styrene gas in Vizag district on May 7, 2020.
