Blessed with a honeyed voice and a deceptively relaxed style, Brent Cobb specializes in synthesizing a bunch of retro-roots sounds into a fresh, idiosyncratic country style. His Georgian drawl can emphasize his soulful influences, but his music also shows traces of sun-kissed folk, country-folk, and laid-back rock.
Cobb s Southern-fried hybrid received a proper showcase on his 2016 major-label debut Shine on Rainy Day, a record produced by his cousin Dave. Shine on Rainy Day earned Brent a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album in 2018, an auspicious start to a career for a singer/songwriter who quietly covered a lot of musical ground.
