Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported that Amazon is targeting Michaels to be their lead play-by-play voice of their exclusive Thursday Night Football coverage. Michaels has been the voice of SNF since NBC began the program in 2006, and will have an expiring contract at the end of next football season. Per Marchand, he is scheduled to call this year s Super Bowl, and then pass the baton over to Mike Tirico, who has been the heir apparent to Sunday Night Football since he left ESPN in 2016.
