WASHINGTON, Jan. 22, 2021 /PRNewswire/ One year from today, Special Olympics World Winter Games 2022 will kick off in Kazan, Russia. More than 2,000 Special Olympics athletes from over 100 countries will compete in seven sports, and will be supported by 3,000 volunteers.
Special Olympics World Winter Games Kazan 2022 will showcase the power of a world of inclusion, equality, kindness, and joy. The Games aim to create inclusive communities by transforming attitudes about people with intellectual disabilities in Russia and around the world.

With the 2022 Special Olympics World Winter Games now only one year away, organisers in Kazan and Special Olympics executives have expressed their support for the upcoming competition.
The Games are due to run from January 22 to 28 next year in Russia.
More than 2,000 athletes from 108 countries are due to compete in seven sports at the event.
These sports are Alpine skiing, snowboarding, floorball, cross-country skiing, figure skating, short track speed skating and snowshoeing.
An estimated 3,000 volunteers will support the athletes. Special Olympics is proud to host World Winter Games 2022 in Kazan in Russia, said Special Olympics chief executive Mary Davis.

Three special athletes and a coach from Jharkhand will be attending the national floorball preparatory camp for the Special Olympics World Winter Games to be held at Kaza, Russia from January 22 to 28 next year.
The camp, which is scheduled between March 15 and 20 in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh is being organised by Special Olympics Bharat (SOB) with logistical support from Sports Authority of India (SAI). It is the final camp for selecting the national floorball squad for the Russia Games.
