LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) is currently accepting grant proposals for its 2019 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP). NDA administers the program, which is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Specialty crops are generally defined as fruits, vegetables, nuts, honey and some turf and ornamental crops. The deadline for submitting proposals is Jan. 31, 2019.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) is accepting new proposals for the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP).
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) established the grant program with the purpose of enhancing the competitiveness of specialty crops. Specialty crops are defined by the USDA as “fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture and nursery crops.” Through enhanced competitiveness of specialty crops, the goal is to improve food access in underserved communities and improve development of local and rural food systems.
The program is part of the Farm Bill, and the USDA allocates funding to state departments of agriculture. Colorado Cattlemen mid-winter meeting being held virtually
Due to Colorado’s enhanced gathering restrictions, Colorado Cattlemen s Association will implement an alternative virtual event for its 2021 Mid-Winter Conference from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.
The revised event will provide agency and specialist updates, steering committee discussions, a business session and a state-of-the- industry/association briefing. The virtual meeting is complimentary to all attendees.

The Colorado Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for USDA’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. USDA partners with state departments of agriculture through the annual grant program to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops in areas including promotion, education, research, trade and nutrition.

LANSING, MI - The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) today announced a request for proposals through the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service.
The program is designed to enhance the competitiveness of Michigan’s specialty crops, which are defined as fruits and vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture, and nursery crops (including floriculture).”
