Overall, automakers generated 350.5 billion TV ad impressions from Jan. 1 through Dec. 20 – the most of any industry that advertised on TV this year (excluding network promos). Sports were a key driver of impressions: NFL football led the way with 14.3 billion TV ad impressions, outdistancing college football (4.9 billion) and NBA basketball (4.5 billion).

On December 16, 2020, an investigator with our Special Victims Unit was notified by a brother that his sister was the victim of a domestic violence/arson incident. The brother stated the incident occurred at her residence in this county on December 6, 2020. The boyfriend assaulted the victim with a liquor bottle, then poured gasoline on her and set her on fire. The victim was able to put the fire out by jumping into a bathtub and then drove herself to the hospital. Because of the severity of her injuries, the victim wasn’t able to provide emergency room personnel any specific details about the incident as they initially treated her and then transferred her to the Augusta Burn Center.

Bernard Wilson, 36, and his girlfriend, Brittany King, 30, both of Memphis, are jailed in lieu of $100,000 bond each on a charge of trafficking for a commercial sex act. The Special Victims Unit received information from the TBI that the 15-year-old, who was reported as a runaway on October 12th, was pictured on a website known to advertise for prostitution and was believed to be in the Nashville area. An undercover detective posing as a “John” made contact through the telephone number provided in the ad and was directed to come to a motel room on Percy Priest Drive.
