The Perham City Council approved a three-year contract with Utility Safety and Design Inc. for the city’s natural gas services at the regular council meeting on Monday, Feb. 8.

Perham City Council approves changes to cut costs on Hub remodel

The Perham City Council has approved changes to the Hub remodel project. Written By: RosaLin Alcoser | × The Hammers Construction crew began the demolition of the old Perham High School s east end and administration wing on Monday, Jan. 18. The structure was separated from the west wing the previous week. The remaining part of the building will be remodeled into the Hub after the demolition is completed. The remodeled part of the Hub project will be completed by Tradesman Construction and has an estimated completion date of Sept. 3.  The City of Perham purchased the old high school from the Perham-Dent Public Schools with the intent of transforming it into the Hub. Perham City Council starts search for new city attorney

Written By: Rosalin Alcoser | × Dennis Happel The Perham City Council authorized the city staff to start the process to request proposals for providing legal services now that current City Attorney Dennis Happel is retiring. Happel has been Perham’s city attorney since Feb. 1, 1977, and is the third city attorney to serve Perham. “It has been a pure adventure to follow the growth of Perham over the last four decades,” said in an interview after the meeting. He said he is retiring from practicing law and it is time to hand off his 44-year role as city attorney to someone else as he goes on to pursue other endeavors.
