Trump-Hating Romney Wing of GOP Is Learning It s Not Popular – PJ Media

Happy Monday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. The right spinach dip can be an aphrodisiac. I sincerely hope that all of your weekends were as good as mine, which was blessed with tacos and beer. We’ve been hearing a lot from the hacks in the mainstream media about a post-Trump battle for the soul of the Republican party. This battle is yet another MSM fabrication. As I am fond of saying, any time two Republicans have lunch together D.C. and order something different the MSM writes about a “Republican Civil War.” Here at the Briefing we all know that there is no battle at all. It’s Trump’s party now and, as I’ve written more than once, if it’s going to survive this Biden horror, it needs to stay that way. Going back to pre-Trump business as usual will guarantee that the Democrats will stay in power forever. Or at least until they kill the Republic. House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), for example, spoke up in support of the former president last Thursday. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) removed from her leadership post. “It’s at a boiling point,” one Republican lawmaker told The Hill. “This isn’t about Liz Cheney wanting to impeach Donald Trump; this isn’t about Donald Trump at all. It’s about Liz Cheney being completely out of synch with the majority of our conference.” More from Rolling Stone Cheney, the third-highest-ranking Republican in the House, has taken heat from within the party since her vote to impeach. She has been criticized for consistently condemning the former president’s actions during the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th and for saying that her Trump-loving colleagues need to move on from his election loss.

GOP s Blue-Collar Agenda Still a Work in Progress

GOP s Blue-Collar Agenda Still a Work in Progress © Justin Sullivan/Getty Images After the November election, many Republican leaders looked at the surge of blue-collar voters into their party and concluded that their best hope for winning the next time was to cement the GOP’s image as “the party of the working class.’’ But Republicans haven’t yet unified behind a policy platform to support that goal. President Biden used his speech to Congress on Wednesday to show that he was eager to compete for those voters, as well, labeling part of his domestic agenda as a jobs program for blue-collar workers. Nearly 90% of the jobs to be created by Mr. Biden’s infrastructure bill wouldn’t require a college degree, he said, calling his plan “a blue-collar blueprint to build America.’’ His climate plan, he said, would create unionized jobs for tasks such as building 500,000 charging stations to power electric vehicles.
