Ready to talk to farmers with folded hands: Modi
NEW DELHI, Dec 18:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asserted that the farm laws were not brought overnight and even opposition parties advocated such laws but are criticising these reforms now as they are upset because Modi has done it, and said the Government was ready “with our heads bowed, our hands folded, with humility” to allay any concerns over the issue.
The Prime Minister’s fresh overtures came during an address to farmers of Madhya Pradesh even as Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar expressed hope of resolving the issue of protesting farmers before the new year.

Farmers throughout the country are satisfied that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked for their empowerment and interests after coming to power, Naqvi told PTI in an interview.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reiterated his government’s call to farmers, whose protest entered the 23rd day, to come to the negotiating table to discuss the farm Acts, saying that if anyone has any doubt over the laws, the government is ready for talks with “folded hands and heads bowed”. “Even after all the government’s efforts if anyone has any doubt over the farm laws, we, with folded hands and heads bowed, are ready for talks,” Modi said, while addressing farmers of Madhya Pradesh virtually. He alleged that Opposition parties had themselves advocated such laws, but were protesting now because they did not want him to get credit for the reforms.
