DC Office to move to new premises soon: Minister

Mysore/Mysuru: The magnificent heritage style multi-crore District Office Complex at Siddartha Layout on Bannur Road will soon house the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office. A meeting will be held with officials and district heads to move the present office to the new premises, said Mysuru District Minister S.T. Somashekar, who already has his office at the new Complex.  Interacting with reporters at Pathrakarthara Bhavan this morning, the Minister said that it was decided earlier that the office would be shifted after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. “Now that the contagion has considerably reduced, the process of shifting the office will begin soon and I will call for a meeting and decide,” he said.

The last date of submitting applications was January 10.

Action will be taken against those disrupting communal harmony: Collector

‘Meetings will be organised in all constituencies to create awareness among people’ District Collector V. Vinay Chand has warned that anyone resorting to disruption of communal harmony will be punished severely. A district-level Communal Harmony Committee was formed to protect peace and communal harmony in the district. The committee is headed by the Collector as chairman and the Police Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police as vice-chairmen, Assistant Director of Endowments and officials of the Minorities Welfare Department as members and Joint Collector as the member-convener. The heads of seven religions are also members of the committee. At the first meeting with officials and representatives of various religions, here on Sunday, the Collector said that the committee was empowered to to initiate necessary action against those indulging or inciting communal violence or causing disharmony among different religions.
