COVID-19 in South Dakota: State reports additional COVID-19 death

The additional death was in a female in the 60-69 age group. Hospitalizations remained unchanged at 103. Of those, 31 were receiving intensive care and 15 were on ventilators. Both of those increased by one over the previous day. The state reported an additional 170 new positive coronavirus infections. Minnehaha County residents accounted for 44 new infections. Lincoln County saw eight. Brown County had 19, and Condington County had 12. The number of active infections increased to 1,789 following 145 new recoveries. A total of 326,272 South Dakotans have received a COVID-19 vaccine through the state or Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.
