On Jan. 9, while skiing at SilverStar Mountain Resort near Vernon, Brita Colero collided with a chair lift tower and she is now a paraplegic, family friend Tracey Dickie said. “Doctors have told Brita and Sandy (Colero) that their life is about to get very expensive. Barring a miracle, Brita will not regain use of her legs and while she can expect to have independence, she requires the use of specialized equipment and support services, Dickie wrote on the GoFundMe web page.
