NEW DELHI, May 10 (Xinhua) Anti-epidemic supplies including 100 oxygen concentrators and 40 ventilators donated by the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) arrived in India on Sunday, Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong said in a tweet.
The shipment by a Chinese cargo flight from China s southwestern city of Chengdu was the first batch of anti-epidemic supplies donated by the RCSC to India, according to the ambassador.
The Red Cross Society of China has offered India 1 million U.S. dollars in cash assistance to help the country combat COVID-19, the Chinese Red Cross Foundation (CRCF) said Sunday.
In addition, a batch of anti-pandemic supplies donated by the Chinese humanitarian organization left Chengdu in southwest China s Sichuan Province on Sunday morning and arrived in Bangalore of India later the day, the CRCF said.
The supplies include 100 oxygen concentrators, 20 non-invasive ventilators and 20 invasive ventilators, added the CRCF.

WHO approves Sinopharm vaccine already used in Georgia

Earlier last week, the World Health Organization approved the Sinopharm vaccine for emergency uses in all countries.
In his statement, WHO Assistant-Director General for Access to Health Products Dr. Mariangela Simao said that the vaccine produced by Beijing Bio-Institute of Biological Products Co Ltd has the potential to allow countries access the rapid vaccination process of the medical workers and other high-risk groups and urged the Sinopharm manufacturers to join the COVAX platform to contribute to the accessible vaccination for all countries around the world.
The first 100,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine have been delivered to Georgia earlier last month, and the vaccination with the Chinese jab began on May 4, just several days before the WHOs official approval.
