With no plans of slowing down Australian rock icon Jimmy Barnes will soon release his newest album and perform for Coast fans all in the same month.
As one of the first acts ever to perform on the Red Hot Summer Tour in 2011 ‘Barnesy’ will again headline the music event, stopping in at Bribie Island’s Sandstone Point Hotel on May 1 and 8.
Touring since 1973, Barnes told the

“I just love it, I don’t see myself stopping, I don’t want to be doing it if I can’t deliver, but as long as I can sing well, I can have a great time and bring joy to people and people want to see me I don’t see any stopping,” he said.

Subscriber only The anticipation surrounding the Agnes Blues Roots & Rock Festival continues to grow as the organising committee recently announced its headline act. Killing Heidi, responsible for mammoth rock hits which made their mark on Australian music in the 2000s, will be rocking the night away at 1770 on February 19. Their impressive CV includes debut platinum album Reflector, which brought four major ARIA awards, with members Ella and Jesse Hooper also winning APRA Songwriters of the Year in 2001. The accolades do not stop there, with Killing Heidi registering several hits in the top 20 of Triple J s Hottest 100 during the early 2000s.

Last year, Ella spoke to Today Extra about starting the band at the age of 13, and also revealed how she decided upon her bold makeup look.

She explained she would smudge red lipstick on her eyelids as makeshift eyeshadow during the band s heyday in the 90s as she wasn t a big makeup girl growing up . Things were so much more naive back then, she added. We didn t really have a team of makeup artists and stylists following us around. Believe it or not, I actually made a lot of those clothes myself with the help of some friends who could sew!
