By Scott Bernstein Jun 30, 2021 • 12:48 pm PDT Thundercat, Japanese Breakfast, Tinariwen and Chicano Batman are among the acts featured on the initial lineup for the return of LEVITATION to Austin this Halloween Weekend. LEVITATION performances will take place at various Austin venues throughout the city’s downtown Red River Cultural District and East Side October 28 – 31 with a kick off concert slated for October 27. Members of The Black Angels and friends founded LEVITATION in 2008 as the Austin Psych Fest. The event was rebranded LEVITATION in tribute to Austin’s own The 13th Floor Elevators who reunited for a performance at the 2015 installment to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Last year’s festival was postponed due to the pandemic.
