Greg Bischoff, Geneva Kaiser, Bill Ongstad elected to Garrison Diversion committee

Greg Bischoff, Barnes County, Geneva Kaiser, Stutsman County, and Bill Ongstad, Wells County, were each elected to a two-year term. A member of Garrison Diversion’s board since 2016, Bischoff represents Barnes County. He serves as chair of the Red River Valley Committee, focusing on the Red River Valley Water Supply Project. Bischoff graduated from Valley City State University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and is the owner of Allard Trophy Co. in Valley City, where he also resides.

Pollert talks bonding, lignite s future

One specific project is the F-M Diversion. The measure allocates $435.5 million for the diversion. I know it will take a few years to get that done, House Majority Leader Chet Pollert (R-Carrington) said during an interview with Prairie Public. But if we can get that off the table, we can start looking at the Red River Water Supply, because that s going to bring water to a lot of rural communities. Mooridian, Kovar receive Water Wheel Award

Both were recognized by the North Dakota Water Users Association and North Dakota Water Resource Districts Association. 4:12 pm, Dec. 18, 2020 × Merri Mooridian of Jamestown and Kip Kovar of Carrington were presented with the Water Wheel Award during the 57th annual Joint North Dakota Water Convention and Irrigation Workshop. The North Dakota Water Users Association and North Dakota Water Resource Districts Association recognized Mooridian for her dedication and professionalism in developing the state’s water resources. “Merri’s work with Garrison Diversion and the Red River Valley Water Supply Project will have lasting positive impacts on the people of North Dakota,” said Lance Gaebe, executive vice president of the North Dakota Water Users Association. “We are proud to recognize Merri with a Water Wheel Award.”
