Zhu
There s always been an elemental vibe to Zhu s music. Tracks evoke feelings of metal, fire and ice, hitting hard and heating up before dropping back into a low simmer. It s an alluring amalgamation that s made Zhu one of the more compelling artists in the scene since breaking out with his starmaking track Faded in 2014. Now, the producer born Steve Zhu is back with his third album and first since 2018
Dreamland 2021.
Much of the album, out on Astralwerks and featuring collaborators including Channel Tres and Tinashe, was conceived and recorded during the pandemic, giving Zhu surplus time to work on the dually hard and sinewy productions populating the project and seek inspiration in unusual places. As a result, the LP expands upon the chic, sleek, heavy and often heady late night vibes that made him famous, lacing house and techno with elements of funk, hip-hop, spatial, jammy guitars. All of which are united by Zhu s own spooky falsetto.

One of the most stunning concert venues in the U.S. recently reopened just in time to celebrate its 80-year anniversary. Red Rocks Amphitheater, located near Denver, marked the milestone by honoring the people who have kept music and hope alive during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some of the biggest names in music including The Beatles, Daft Punk and Stevie Nicks have played at the historic venue. But Wednesday, every performer was a relative unknown, though not unimportant.
Each has shared their music during the pandemic. Emily Worthem, an ICU nurse, sang to her critically ill COVID-19 patients. Maybe it would give them some sort of comfort, some sense of humanity when they re feeling all alone in the COVID ICU, she said.
New Stage Roof at Red Rocks Can Hold 15 Elephants
As crowds (though not full capacity) head back to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, they ll notice that the stage has a new roof. It s a very sturdy new roof, too.
It is an odd gauge of strength, elephants; but what better way to tell people how strong something is. Ya, this oak table can handle 1.5 elephants.
On April 22, 2021, the band Lotus was the first act to utilize Red Rocks new stage roof, though it was unclear if the band needed to use a lot of equipment with the stage roof rigging which can how handle 150,000 pounds, which is equal to roughly 15 elephants.
