Service Chiefs listened to us by resigning - PDP reacts, sets agenda for replacements

PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said the Service Chiefs outlived their usefulness, hence their resignation. Speaking with DAILY POST, Ologbondiyan said the incoming Service Chiefs should put an end to the spate of insecurity in the country. The spokesman of the opposition party insisted that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari was ineffective. According to Ologbondiyan: “The Chief of Army Staff and his colleagues listened to the voice of eminent Nigerians and PDP that if the president refused to sack them then they have outlived their usefulness and as such, they should resign. “If they on their own resigned their commission believing that they have outlived their usefulness then what is left for us is to set an agenda for the incoming Service Chiefs.

3 reported dead, 4 abducted in renewed boundary clash between Abia, A Ibom States

Daily Post Nigeria Published About three persons have reportedly been killed while four others abducted in a renewed clash between the people of Usaka Uko in Ikwuano Local government area of Abia State and Nkari, Ini local government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The crisis which has been lingering, it was gathered occurred early hours of Friday, 22 January 2021 when some youths suspected to come from Usaka Uko allegedly ambushed indigenes of Nkari, shot them and carted away their motorcycles. Recall that a similar incident occurred in August 2020, where about 11 persons were allegedly killed and scores injured in both camps. One of the elders in Nkari, Major Tony Isenyeng(Rtd) told members of the Civil Liberties Organisation led by its Chairman, Franklyn Isong who visited the deserted community, that indigenes have become helpless over the continuous bloodletting occasioned by the crisis.

CLOTasks Anambra CP On Slain Motorcycle Operator

The Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) has called on the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr John Abang, to discreetly investigate the alleged extra-judicial killing of commercial motorcycle operator in Igboukwu axis of the state. The Chairman of CLO in Anambra, Mr Vincent Ezekwueme, made the appeal on Monday while speaking with news men in Enugu on increasing cases of misuse of fire arms by police personnel in the area. Ezekwueme also condemned the destruction and burning down of three police stations in Igboukwu, Oko and Ekwulobia communities the following morning after the incident by irate mob that were dissatisfied with the action of the police personnel.
