Former press attache at Pakistan Embassy Nadeem Hotiana dies of COVID-19 in US

Pakistan Information Service officer Nadeem Hotiana has passed away in the United States from COVID-19.
Hotiana had joined the Civil Service of Pakistan in 2001.
The deceased has left behind a wife, two sons, and a daughter.
WASHINGTON: Nadeem Hotiana, a former press attache at the Pakistan Embassy here, has died of complications from coronavirus.
Hotiana, 50, was reported to be recovering from the virus but his condition deteriorated over the past couple of days and he breathed his last on Thursday night.

ISLAMABAD: Dr Ishrat Hussain, the prime ministerâs adviser on civil service reforms, has said that the cadre strength of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) officers in the provinces has been drastically reduced.
Hussain told The News that the present cadre strength of PAS officers in the provinces is 1,725 It has now been reduced to 1,121 releasing 604 positions for the provincial service cadres.
âThis would not only remove the hurdles in the way of the provincial service officers but accelerate their prospects for promotion to higher grades,â he said, adding, âIn addition, the PCS officers would be inducted directly into PAS through the FPSC.â
